1. Labor Ready:
This company pays daily and has several locations in San Diego (and throughout the US as well).  I really like this company since I have been able to fund my travels from Texas to California!  Some locations however are inhospitable and difficult to work for.

San Diego Labor Ready Locations:

A. San Diego Airport Branch (airport area near to down town)
(I have worked here and I can say from experience that management is inhospitable as well as difficult to work for. This is a hostile work environment!)

Location:

B. Clairmont Mesa Branch:
(I have worked here.  This Branch Office is very professional and efficient, with good management and staff, and usually has lot's of work!)  This manager and staff understand the necessity to cater to both the employees as well as the employers.

Location:

Note: In order to greatly increase your chances of "getting out" or working, you should try to be there when the branch office opens.

C. North Park
(I have worked here and I can say that Management is inhospitable as well as difficult to work for. This is a hostile work environment!)

Location:

D. Chula Vista:
(I have not worked here.)

Location:

E. El Cajon
(I have not worked here.)

Location:

Please Note: My opinion is based on my personal experiences working for Labor Ready locations in San Diego, California:

The positives of working for labor ready:
1. Daily Pay (if your work ends before the branch office closes for the day).
2. Free Coffee!  If your drug of choice is caffine and you need a cup in the morning like I do in order to function properly without biting someone's head off, you will appreciate showing up to a free pot of coffee!
3. Even if you get there late, you may still get out (to work) because there are also jobs that start later as well as at night.

The negatives of working for labor ready:
Some locations have management with the "prison management mentality". (Prison Management Mentality) One example of the prison manage mentality is when I arrived for the first time at Justin's Down Town Labor Ready to find that the coffee had been cut off in order to punish the laborers or "inmates" as they are treated. A second example is Bob's North Park Labor Ready in which if you park on the public street out front of the office, he will purposely not send you out! More to come! Check back.

2. Labor Temp Services:
This company pays daily and has several locations in San Diego.

A. Cezar E. Chavez location: (UNDER CONSTRUCTION)

C.

Please Note: My opinion is based on my personal experiences working for Labor Temp Service locations in San Diego, California:

The positives of working for labor temp services:
1. Daily Pay (if your work ends before the branch office closes for the day).

2. Extra Money! If you have transportation, this company pays (as of Nov 2005) approx. $5.00 per individual that you transport to the job!  Cash talks!

The negatives of working for labor temp services:
You must get there early or you propably won't get out eventhough there are some night jobs.

More to come so check back soon!
